The client approached us with the planning permission and change of use already granted. The client’s initial intention was to refurbish the existing building into 48 luxury apartments. Over six floors the building features one and two bedrooms apartments, ensuite bathrooms, balcony’s and amazing vistas from every room.
The front and rear elevations of the building has allocated parking for residents including an outdoor stair lift for easy accessibility. There is also secure bicycle storage with refuse and recycling areas. The proposal also included a 2 floor extension on top of the existing 4 floors.
In terms of material the building restored its existing London stock brick and adding more glass to the elevations. The newest and proposed upper floors are seen as a Mansard, they are constructed with a grey panel cladding with a setback balcony balustrades running round the building envelope.
